In his leadership role, David brings real-world experience with a focus on medical language access on a national level, sales/ marketing, and health equity. David founded Linguava with just one employee in 2010 and has grown it to more than 75 employees and thousands of linguists in more than 250 languages. He served for 3 years as the president of the Oregon Healthcare Interpreters Association (OHCIA). Currently, he serves as the Chair for the NCIHC Languages of Limited Diffusion (LLD), which provides training and resources to LLD language interpreters and the community. He also has his own podcast titled The Invisible Profession, which provides tools, tips, and resources in the interpretation and translation industry. David is a certified Spanish medical interpreter himself and has a strong passion for achieving health equity for all. He is passionate about helping the Limited English Proficient and Deaf and Hard of Hearing community receive meaningful language access that helps improve patient experience and health outcomes.
